Now HRD Minister of India Smriti irani comes up with a new statement about ranking of Indian Universities. As we all know in latest survey result of QS about Indian higher education institutes/ universities not finding positions in global rankings. So smriti irani has blamed the criteria that they follow to rank any university.

According to Press Report, government on December 14 said that the Indian universities and higher education institutions are not getting their due place in global rankings, mainly due to the criteria which depend a lot on the perception of a “selected group” of persons.

Smriti Irani said that some leading educational institutions in the country have set global standards in education and research. “This is primarily because of the criteria used by these agencies for ranking, which depend a lot on the perception of a select group of persons, while working on their strengths, the Indian higher education institutions would need to work on improving their perception index if they have to better their global rankings,” Irani added.

In latest QS Survey not a single University is in worlds top 100 University. Same thing happened in Time Higher Education Ranking Bracket 2015.

According to Irani, our Indian Institutions has international standards of higher education but if system needs any improvement then government will do which is best for our education system.
